Tip #1: Stay Focused

Updated: Aug 13, 2020

Hey, how are you? I know- you’ve heard that question about a BILLION times, but I TRULY hope you’re doing well!

Let’s get back to work. In any ESL test, the writing section seems like you have the most freedom to be creative, right? NOPE! Instead, you need to stay really focused and make sure your writing reflects that mindset. PLEASE dont’t think about how you can add something that is MAYBE related to the topic in order to make it “stand out” to the reader (a.k.a. the examiner). This can LEAD to a LOW writing score, and who wants that? Instead, use the limited time that you’re given wisely; keep yourself on track. Make sure you stay focused on the prompt (or prompts) that you’re given and make that your only mission.
